  1. One of my daughter’s good friends is from Kentucky, and she’s the sweetest young woman. You sound very much like her…generous and hospitable.

sounds like you’ll do just fine blogging…hugs…hugmamma. 🙂

I’ll check more of your blog now.
You seem to be such a sweet person 🙂 and that’s always nice to see in chaotic world of internet.

    I also got married in 2007, 5th July. 🙂

btw-I also don’t iron and don’t have iron board.

  3. Can I just tell you how much I enjoy your blog! I look forward to reading it day to day. You are one of the (pretend “the” is in italics) most genuine bloggers I have read, and what I mean by that is I can tell by your words that you are a genuine person, an awesome woman. Your true personality rings true right through the computer screen and I just love it. Your words make me smile and giggle and I enjoy them!

Get that Sweet Tea Ready and dust off a rocking chair on the front porch, if I ever make it to Texas you and I are hanging out!

    Smile~
    Jamie (fnkybee)

  4. Nevermind! 7th grade S.S.! How fun…. I teach Art History at a local university. So glad to find a fellow teacher blog. 🙂 Take Care!

  5. Hi Nicole! For some reason I clicked on your name while reading the Post a Week Photo Challenge & was tickled to see we only live about 30 miles from one another! Happy blogging! I started in Feburary and am loving it! I subscribed to your blog and am looking forward to reading. I’m typically pretty blog savy – even created my own self-hosted blog, but can’t seem to find a moment to figure out how to place an email subscription on my blog for others to subsribe to. Eventually, I guess. 🙂 Have a great Sunday!

    • Hi Jan, and welcome to my blog! I love hearing from readers and it’s neat you live so close! In what directions do you live from Joshua? Thirty-minutes is just a hop, skip, and a jump when you’re in Texas! I visited your blog. I. LOVE. IT. Wow! You have a wonderful talent. We have a lot in common, I’m looking forward to following your adventures on the farm.

P.S. If you like your food as hot as you say you do, I have some homemade pepper relish that my parents make in KY that would be right up your alley. I think ketchup is spicy so I won’t even touch the stuff. But, I love working in their garden and making all the relishes and “goodies” with them. If you are still looking for HOT pepper, please let me know and I will get you in touch with my Dad. He grows the stuff that you have to wear gloves and masks to work with….that stuff’s hot! haha

      Nicole
      🙂

      • I’m between Hillsboro & Corsicana. In Frost. Oh I would love the pepper relish recipe from your Daddy. Sounds like something I would put all over black-eyed peas. YUM!

I make my own hot sauce…and it sounds silly but I want to market it one day so I’ve rarely shared the recipe. I grow my own peppers but some years they just don’t turn out as hot as I’d like them too.

Great to hear from you! Can’t wait to read your posts!!

  6. I came upon your blog by reading your post (below mine) on Margaret fienberg’s …about leadeship. I liked your words & identified with the part, “I am a middle school teacher.” Me too, and bless your heart, I also detest monitoring TAKS & I’ve been doing that for 25+ years – my least favorite days of the school year – but there are many good moments that balance out those hours of drudgery. I will continue to check out your blog from time to time – please take a look at mine if/when you have time. Peace to you!

    • Susan, I am so glad you found my blog and I am especially glad you contacted me because I am curious about your comment on Margaret’s blog (don’t you just love her books?! She’s amazing!). Are you in Grapevine? Are you referencing Rev. Ken Diehm’s funeral? I am a member at First UMC in Joshua. I had met Ken several times at CTC events, including Annual Conference and the latest re-org sessions. He was a lovely man, very gifted and a blessing to all. I’m sorry for your loss.

I’d love to follow your blog, what is the site address? My first year teaching has been a roller-coaster of emotions and experiences, but overall it’s going really well. Even today I was looking at the calendar and I cannot believe it’s already March. Time flies when you’re having fun!

      Peace and Grace,
      Nicole

I really love your picture, and the added 2007 wedding. Congrats! I am new at this blogging thing but love it, or I found I love it. I am an avid reader, and love BOOKS. Thanks for putting up an about me page…it is so nice. Mine is blah. 🙂

    • Thank you! Our wedding was fabulous and so much FUN!!!!!!! I’m enjoying this thing we call blogging too, invite your friends! It’s so nice to know that someone is actually reading this. haha

  8. What an interesting description! Especially about your husbands work!!! I’m right there with on numbers 3,4 and 5. Love your wedding photos. I like that you have a little jackety thing on. I don’t like all of the exposed skin that I see nowadays. It’s just a little too much.

    • So sweet of you!!! I saw a picture of the dress and jacket and bought it the next day…talk about an impulse purchase – but it was just one of the highlights of our wedding day. As an avid reader, I would love to know what book(s) you are currently reading. I just finished _The Help_ by Kathryn Stockett and started _Million Little Pieces_ by James Frey today. I want to participate in Real Simple magazine’s No Obligation Book Club too. Thanks for reading my blog, I’m glad to know somebody out there is enjoying my rambling thoughts.

      Blessings!

      • I am so proud of you! I got to your blog via Facebook, so I hope I can find my way back again. You are so beautiful, just like I knew you would be. It sounds like you are very happy and content. Happy Anniversary and thanks for the birthday wish yesterday. Hearing from you was like a surprise birthday gift.

P.S. I read “The Help” about a month ago and really liked it.

      • Mrs. Mabry!!!! What a lovely surprise, this is a grand anniversary present for me. It’s wonderful to hear from you and I look forward to catching up via Facebook; and, I hope you will find your way back to my blog often. I credit you and ALL the wonderful teachers at Robard Elementary for building such a tried-and-true reading and writing foundation in my early years. You are a reason I am able to share my stories.

P.S. “The Help” was fantastic. If you get a change, you must read “Room,” it was pretty awesome too. 🙂

I appreciate all comments and read every single one. (To avoid the spam garbage, I approve them.) Go ahead, share your thoughts - it makes me smile when you do that!
